Five Simple Rules: How to choose a cheap and quality CCTV camera.

1.Do you need B/w or color security camera system?

• For the purposes of video surveillance is recommended to choose black and white CCTV camera. They have the best resolution and sensitivity compared with color security cameras, which enables better and more legible image. 2.Cheap CCTV Camera will be installed indoors or outdoors?

• Cameras designed for installation outdoor, have a tight body and internal heating system. This allows them to work in the wide range of temperatures and humidity. Indoor cameras don't have heating system, so they are more cheaper compared with outdoors cameras.

3.The sensitivity of the camera. What is it? What sensitivity is required?

• The sensitivity of the camera indicates the minimum level of illumination of the object at which the camera can see.
• In the characteristics of the camera always indicates the minimum level of illumination in which the camera is seeing. Luminance level specified in Lux (lx). More lux, the brighter the object is illuminated.
• Example. The sensitivity of the camera 0.01 lux. This means that:
  at illumination 0.01 lux and a camera sees;
  when light is less than 0.01 lux camera is blind.
  When selecting the camera you should pay attention to the level of illumination of the object. For example, if the camera will be installed outdoor, and planned it have to see in low light at night (1 .. 0.01 lux), you should select a camera with a sensitivity of 0.01 lux or lower. 4.Camera's Resolution

• Most of the video surveillance cameras - analog, not digital. Therefore we are not talking about pixels (dots on a vertical or horizontal). And we will talk about TVL (TV lines). TVL - is the number of lines, which gives the camera horizontally or vertically.
• Absolutely all the camera have 625 horizontal lines. This is due to the standard television signal, by which we watch TV. Number of lines of vertical resolution - the main characteristic of the resolution of the camera. For example, 420 TVL or 380 TVL. There are also cameras with 600 TVL. Accordingly, the higher the TVL, the higher the resolution and the more fine detail we can see.
• CCTV cameras with a resolution of 600 TVL (and so) are used mainly for connecting to microscopes, gastroscopes and other medical and scientific equipment.
• For example, the TV we watch with 400 TV lines - is determined by the standard television broadcasting.
• Cheap CCTV cameras with a resolution of 420 TVL are almost always enough. Color cameras usually have a smaller TVL.
